Eden Project Communities
The Big Lunch is the UK’s largest get-together for neighbours, and over the years I have helped the team at Eden to get the message out there to over 15 million participants.
From walking the length and breadth of the UK (yes, I did say walking) as their Event Manager for visits to 40+ communities, to speaking live on Sky News, BBC Radio 2 and to a room full of politicians at Westminster about how to get involved.
I’ve trained community champions both face-to-face and online; I’ve created social media campaigns, engaging website content and designed and delivered a sector outreach programme for the Arts & Culture sector.
Oh, and did I mention I’ve event managed 6 of my own Big Lunches? Because I like to practice what I preach!
I work with Eden on a project-by-project basis, usually for 3 months at a time around The Big Lunch campaign. They like to come back to me each year because I have that passion and retained knowledge, so I can get cracking.

Northamptonshire Mind
Client Since: 2024 Northamptonshire Mind is the county’s largest mental health charity and part of the national Mind federation. Like many charities, the priority is putting as much resource as possible into delivering services, so having a full-time marketing specialist wasn’t an option. That’s where I came in.
For nine months, I became their fractional Marketing Lead, helping to rethink how the charity talked about itself and build recognition across Northamptonshire.
I advised on marketing strategy, designed and delivered the charity’s 60th anniversary campaign, secured regional press coverage, trained staff to feel more confident about marketing and communications, and helped the organisation navigate some particularly challenging moments.
My role later moved beyond marketing and into community engagement. For a further nine months, I project managed one of the charity’s community hubs, building local partnerships, getting to know the community, developing activities and securing in-kind support from local businesses and organisations.
It’s a good example of where the two sides of my work meet: using communications to connect with people, then turning those connections into meaningful community engagement.
As someone with lived experience of depression and anxiety, working with Northamptonshire Mind has also been some of the most personally fulfilling work I’ve done.

Swimathon Foundation
Client since 2024 For over 40 years, Swimathon has been the UKs biggest fundraising swim with over 10,000 swimmers taking part in over 500 pools across the UK, raising £55m for charity.
I’ve worked with the team behind Swimathon since 2019 on their sister event, Marathon Swims, so I’m very much in the mass participation sporting event world!
I’m retained by the Foundation as Swimathon’s Social Media Manager. That means I work on the project all year, with peaks around the event weekend. I am responsible for designing and delivering the social media strategy across 4 platforms. That’s not just creating content that reflects our audience (and the people we want to attract), it’s nurturing partnerships, finding and managing digital champions, working with celebrities and influencers, analysing what’s working and what isn’t, and the list goes on! All of this work boils down to getting meaningful engagement, sign-ups, and that all-important fundraising.
I work with a small team of freelancers who deliver the event, and my favourite part is meeting participants and sharing their inspiring stories.
